Training Program
Prepare for your White Card course with Training Unlimited by familiarising yourself with these key program requirements:
- Training must be conducted over a minimum period of 6hrs not including breaks.
- A Statement of Training (SOT) must be issued to students if they satisfactorily complete all assessments, demonstrating competency in the program.
- Due to White Card being a Government Initiative, students will have to complete ALL training hours required. Insufficient ID and being late will automatically deem the student ineligible to start the course on that date. Students will need to contact our office to rebook, paying 50% of the course cost, if this is the case.

White Card Entry Requirements
To enrol in the Construction Induction (CI) or General Induction Training (GIT), the following requirements need to be met -
- English Proficiency - You must have with suitable skills in language, numeracy and literacy for a Certificate III level course. See more information at https://www.aqf.edu.au/aqf-levels
- Minimum Age - You must be at least 14 years of age to complete this course.

White Card Course Pre-requisites
- All students must have valid photo ID on the day of training.
- Unique Student Identifier (USI) - You will need to provide your USI number. If you don't have one, you can apply for it online.
White Card Assessment
Within the accredited course, students will be required to complete multiple choice questions and short answer assessments in English throughout the day. Students will receive a lunch break and please note, lunch is not provided. Students are offered multiple opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge and skills throughout the course to deem them competent across the unit.
There are 4 components to this White Card program:
- Theoretical training in the classroom (Multiple Choice & Short Answer)
- Practical training in the classroom
- Assessment for both knowledge and skills
This White Card course combines plain English, videos, photos, and questioning to ensure all learners can have the best possible chance at comprehending the required knowledge and skills.
Assessments MUST be completed in English and with no further assistance. If you believe you will need assistance due to your Language, Literacy or Numeracy skills, please contact our office on info@tu.edu.au to discuss your training needs.
If a student is not successful in completing all assessments satisfactorily, they will need to rebook the White Card course at a $50 NYC Fee.
White Card Certification
Once successfully completed, students will be awarded the nationally accredited qualification CPCWHS1001 - Work safely in the construction industry within 48 hours of practical training being completed.
Certificates are issued by Training Unlimited Pty Ltd (RTO ID 20891).

Payment can be made at the time of booking using either a credit card, EFTPOS or cash. Invoices and acceptance of company cheques is by prior arrangement only.
- Is White Card nationally recognised?
As of the 1st of September 2012, the General Induction White Card is recognised nationally.
- Do you offer the refresher course?
This is counted as a refresher course! You simply complete the course again, however you will be able to complete it more easily as you already have experience.
- When do I get my certificate?
Once successfully completed, students will be awarded the nationally accredited qualification via email within 48 hours of practical training being completed.
- When does my certificate expire?
This card does not expire, however if you have not worked on a construction for 2 years or more, WorkCover WA recommends attending a course to update your skills and knowledge.
