By completing this Traineeship, you will gain the expertise needed to excel in a hospitality retail setting. The assessment process is founded on the principles of competency-based training. Your performance will be measured based on your ability to carry out tasks to industry standards. To ensure validity, we employ a variety of learning styles and assessment strategies.
Each unit of competence will be assessed through a combination of observation and workplace tasks. The workplace-based assessments may include, but are not limited to:
We inform students well in advance about assessment activities, and we encourage you to share any special needs you might have. The criteria for assessment are documented in all modules and workbooks. Once the traineeship commences, you'll receive the dates of assessments and a timetable. Your assessment may include a combination of continuous assessments and examinations, based on competencies and marks, or both.
Half price course fees for new students to Retail in 2024*. This training is partly subsidised by the WA and Australian Governments, and as a result your fee is determined through Training Services WA formal eligibility criteria.

Despite being an introvert, Dylan enjoys stepping out of his comfort zone to build strong client relationships. He thrives in TU's collaborative environment, where the mission to "Be Better!" aligns with his personal values. He relishes leading Food Safety Supervisor classes and celebrating wins with his team. Dylan's favorite item at Hungry Jack’s is the BBQ Cheeseburger. His favorite quote by Eric Thomas reflects his drive for success: “When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you’ll be successful.”
Matthew joined Training Unlimited in September 2023 after an impressive career as a restaurant manager at Hungry Jack’s since 2020. With 11 years of experience at Hungry Jack’s, he brings deep industry knowledge to his role as a Training Specialist. Matthew enjoys meeting a variety of students who are eager to learn. His approach to training emphasizes making the learning environment fun, exciting, and engaging. He takes pride in assisting students with their development and education, knowing that he's making a positive impact on their careers. His favorite item at Hungry Jack's is the Spicy Cheesy Bacon Jack’s Fried Chicken. Matthew's favorite quote, from Jane Fonda, reflects his desire to make a difference: “Instead of drifting along like a leaf in a river, understand who you are and how you come across to people and what kind of an impact you have on the people around you and the community around you and the world, so that when you go out, you can feel you have made a positive difference.”
Phoebe joined Training Unlimited in June of 2024. She is very excited to bring on board her many different experiences that she has gathered over the 9 years in the hospitality industry. Phoebe's favourite part of being a Training Specialist is meeting new people and helping them with their new learning adventures within the workplace. She is a firm believer that everyone should be treated equally and get an opportunity to learn. Her approach to training is to try and make even the most challenging units’ fun and exciting! Her favourite Hungry Jack's item is a double cheeseburger add bacon no pickle! Phoebe's go-to quote is "The past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it.”
